What is in your kundli
A kundli is a map of the sky at the moment and place of your birth. The rising sign (lagna) becomes the first house, and the other eleven houses follow it. Each house is read for its own part of life. Parāśara lists them in the eleventh chapter of his Horā Śāstra:
From the lagna (1st house) examine the body, appearance, knowledge, complexion, strength and weakness, happiness, sorrow and one's nature.
Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra 11.2
From the 2nd house examine wealth and grain, the family, enemies, metals, gems and the like.
Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra 11.3
From the 4th house consider vehicles, relatives, the mother, happiness, treasure, land and house.
Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra 11.5
From the 5th house: mantras, learning, the ordering of the intellect, sons, rule and fall from position.
Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra 11.6
From the 7th house examine the wife, journeys and trade.
Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra 11.8
From the 10th house: rule, livelihood, honour, the father, living abroad and debts.
Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra 11.11
From the 11th house: the gain of various things, income and growth.

How the chart is computed
- Planet positions from NASA JPL's DE440 ephemeris, the same data observatories use, converted to the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanāṃśa.
- Your birthplace's time zone and its history (including India's wartime and pre-1955 clocks) are applied before anything else, so the birth moment is right.
- Sunrise and sunset are computed for the place, because the day and night strengths and several special lagnas depend on them.
- The sixteen vargas follow the rules of chapter 6, one by one; where the text names a lord instead of a sign (horā, triṃśāṃśa) the chart says so.
Your daśā periods
The full reading gives the order and dates of your planetary periods, and what each brings. The Viṃśottarī daśā starts from the nakṣatra the Moon was in at birth:
Count from Kṛttikā to the birth star and divide by nine; the remainder gives the daśā lord. Beginning with him, run the daśās.
Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra 46.13
Their daśā years in order are 6, 10, 7, 18, 16, 19, 17, 7 and 20.

Questions
Is the kundli really free?
Yes. Your kundli — the birth chart, the navāṃśa, all sixteen divisional charts and the planet table — is free, with no sign-in. The full reading, where every rule of the text is checked against your chart — every area of life in plain words, when each result comes, Gochar and a short summary — is a plan for that kundli, a month or a year; the price, with any introductory offer, is shown on this page.
Do I need the exact birth time?
The time decides the lagna, which moves about one sign every two hours, so the houses change with it. If you know the time only roughly, the life-journey view lets you shift it by minutes and see what changes.
Which ayanāṃśa is used?
Lahiri (Chitrapaksha), the one adopted by the Government of India's calendar reform committee and used by most Indian almanacs.
North or South Indian chart?
Both. Switch between them on the chart screen; the data is the same.
