Chapter 24 gives the result of the lord of every house placed in every house. These are the twelve for the 2nd. The text adds that results come in proportion to the planet's strength (24.145–148), and where one planet owns two houses whose results clash on the same matter, both are cancelled (24.146).
धनेशे लग्नगे जातः पुत्रवान् धनसंयुतः । कुटुम्बकण्टकः कामी निष्ठुरः परकार्यकृत्
With the 2nd lord in the lagna, the native has sons and wealth, is a thorn to his family, … harsh, and does others' work.
धनेश लग्न में हो तो जातक पुत्रवान, धनवान, कुटुंब के लिए कंटक, … निष्ठुर और दूसरों का कार्य करने वाला होता है।
24.13धनेशे धनगे जातो धनवान् गर्वसंयुतः । … सुतहीनः प्रजायते
With the 2nd lord in the 2nd, the native is wealthy and proud … and is without children.

24.14धनेशे सहजे जातो विक्रमी मतिमान् गुणी । कामी लोभी शुभाढ्ये च पापाढ्ये देवनिन्दकः
With the 2nd lord in the 3rd, the native is valorous, intelligent, virtuous, … and greedy — with benefics; with malefics, a reviler of the gods.
धनेश तृतीय में हो तो जातक पराक्रमी, बुद्धिमान, गुणी, … और लोभी — शुभ ग्रहों के साथ; पाप ग्रहों के साथ हो तो देव-निंदक।
24.15धनेशे सुखभावस्थे सर्वसम्पत्समन्वितः । गुरुणा संयुते स्वोच्चे राजतुल्यो नरो भवेत्
With the 2nd lord in the 4th, one has all kinds of wealth; joined with Jupiter and exalted, the man is equal to a king.
धनेश चतुर्थ में हो तो जातक सब संपत्तियों से युक्त होता है; गुरु के साथ और उच्च में हो तो मनुष्य राजा के समान होता है।
24.16धनेशे सुतभावस्थे जातो धनसमन्वितः । धनोपार्जनशीलाश्च जायन्ते तत्सुता अपि
With the 2nd lord in the 5th, the native is wealthy, and his sons too are born given to earning wealth.
धनेश पंचम में हो तो जातक धनवान होता है, और उसके पुत्र भी धन कमाने वाले होते हैं।
24.17धनेशे रिपुभावस्थे सशुभे शत्रुतो धनम् । सपापे शत्रुतो हानिर्जङ्घावैकल्यवान् भवेत्
With the 2nd lord in the 6th with a benefic, there is wealth from enemies; with a malefic, loss through enemies, and one has defective shanks.
धनेश षष्ठ में शुभ ग्रह के साथ हो तो शत्रुओं से धन; पाप ग्रह के साथ हो तो शत्रुओं से हानि, और जंघा में विकार होता है।

With the 2nd lord in the 8th, the native has much land and wealth; happiness from the wife is little, and there is no happiness from the elder brother.
धनेश अष्टम में हो तो जातक बहुत भूमि और धन से युक्त होता है; पत्नी-सुख थोड़ा होता है और बड़े भाई का सुख नहीं होता।
24.20धनेशे धर्मभावस्थे धनवानुद्यमी पटुः । बाल्ये रोगी सुखी पश्चात् तीर्थधर्मव्रतादिकृत्
With the 2nd lord in the 9th, one is wealthy, diligent and skilful, sick in childhood and happy later, and performs pilgrimages, religious duties, vows and the like.
धनेश नवम में हो तो जातक धनवान, उद्यमी, कुशल, बचपन में रोगी, बाद में सुखी, और तीर्थ, धर्म, व्रत आदि करने वाला होता है।
24.21धनेशे कर्मगे जातः कामी मानी च पण्डितः । बहुदारधनैर्युक्तः किञ्च पुत्रसुखोज्झितः
With the 2nd lord in the 10th, the native is … honourable and learned, has … much wealth; moreover he is bereft of happiness from children.
धनेश दशम में हो तो जातक … मानी, पंडित, … धन से युक्त होता है; साथ ही संतान-सुख से रहित होता है।
24.22धनेशे लाभभावस्थे सर्वलाभसमन्वितः । सदोद्योगयुतो मानी कीर्तिमान् जायते नरः
With the 2nd lord in the 11th, the man has all gains, is always diligent, honourable and famous.
धनेश एकादश में हो तो मनुष्य सब लाभों से युक्त, सदा उद्यमी, मानी और कीर्तिमान होता है।
24.23धनेशे व्ययभावस्थे साहसी धनवर्जितः । परभाग्यरतस्तस्य ज्येष्ठापत्यसुखं न हि
With the 2nd lord in the 12th, one is adventurous, without wealth, intent on others' fortune, and has no happiness from his eldest child.
धनेश द्वादश में हो तो जातक साहसी, धनहीन, दूसरों के भाग्य में रत होता है, और उसे बड़ी संतान का सुख नहीं होता।
24.24I tell the results of the 2nd house; listen, O best of the twice-born. The 2nd lord in the 2nd, or in a kendra or trikoṇa, —

— is to be known as increasing wealth; in a trika (6, 8, 12) it causes loss of wealth. A benefic in the 2nd gives wealth; a malefic destroys wealth.

One whose 2nd lord is Jupiter and is in the 2nd, or is with Mars, becomes wealthy.

With the 2nd lord in the 11th or the 11th lord in the 2nd, or (with) both in kendras or trikoṇas, the man becomes wealthy.
