The wise should see from the 5th house (of sons) yantras and mantras, learning, the ordering of the intellect, sons, rule, fall (from position) and the like.

Chapter 24 gives the result of the lord of every house placed in every house. These are the twelve for the 5th. The text adds that results come in proportion to the planet's strength (24.145–148), and where one planet owns two houses whose results clash on the same matter, both are cancelled (24.146).
सुतेशे लग्नगे जातो विद्वान् पुत्रसुखान्वितः । कदर्यो वक्रचित्तश्च परद्रव्यापहारकः
With the 5th lord in the lagna, the native is learned, has happiness from children, is miserly, crooked-minded, and a stealer of others' wealth.
पंचमेश लग्न में हो तो जातक विद्वान, संतान-सुख से युक्त, कंजूस, कुटिल चित्त वाला और पर-धन हरने वाला होता है।
24.49सुतेशे धनगे जातो बहुपुत्रो धनान्वितः । कुटुम्बपोषको मानी स्त्रीप्रियः सुयशा भुवि
With the 5th lord in the 2nd, the native has many children and wealth, supports his family, is honourable, dear to his wife, and of good fame in the world.
पंचमेश द्वितीय में हो तो जातक अनेक संतानों वाला, धनवान, कुटुंब का पोषक, मानी, स्त्री-प्रिय और संसार में यशस्वी होता है।
24.50सुतेशे सहजे भावे जायते सोदरप्रियः । पिशुनश्च कदर्यश्च स्वकार्यनिरतः सदा
With the 5th lord in the 3rd, one is dear to his siblings, a slanderer, miserly, and always intent on his own work.
पंचमेश तृतीय में हो तो जातक सहोदरों का प्रिय, चुगलखोर, कंजूस और सदा अपने कार्य में रत होता है।
24.51सुतेशे सुखभावस्थे सुखी मातृसुखान्वितः । लक्ष्मीयुक्तः सुबुद्धिश्च राज्ञोऽमात्योऽथवा गुरुः
With the 5th lord in the 4th, one is happy, has happiness from the mother, is prosperous and intelligent, and is a king's minister or a preceptor.
पंचमेश चतुर्थ में हो तो जातक सुखी, माता के सुख से युक्त, लक्ष्मीवान, सुबुद्धि, और राजा का मंत्री या गुरु होता है।
24.52सुतेशे सुतभावस्थे शुभाढ्ये पुत्रवान् नरः । पापाढ्येऽपत्यहीनोऽसौ गुणवान् मित्रवत्सलः
With the 5th lord in the 5th: with benefics, the man has children; with malefics, he is without children; he is virtuous and affectionate to friends.
पंचमेश पंचम में हो: शुभ ग्रहों के साथ हो तो मनुष्य संतानवान; पाप ग्रहों के साथ हो तो संतानहीन; वह गुणवान और मित्रवत्सल होता है।
24.53सुतेशे रिपुभावस्थे पुत्रः शत्रुसमो भवेत् । … दत्तक्रीतसुतोऽथवा
With the 5th lord in the 6th, the son is like an enemy; … or he has an adopted or purchased son.
पंचमेश षष्ठ में हो तो पुत्र शत्रु के समान होता है; … या वह दत्तक या क्रीत पुत्र वाला होता है।
24.54सुतेशे सप्तमे मानी सर्वधर्मसमन्वितः । पुत्रादिसुखयुक्तश्च परोपकरणे रतः
With the 5th lord in the 7th, one is honourable, has every virtue, happiness from children and the like, and is intent on helping others.
पंचमेश सप्तम में हो तो जातक मानी, सब धर्मों से युक्त, पुत्र आदि के सुख से युक्त और परोपकार में रत होता है।
24.55सुतेशे रन्ध्रभावस्थे स्वल्पपुत्रसुखान्वितः । कासश्वाससमायुक्तः क्रोधी च सुखवर्जितः
With the 5th lord in the 8th, one has little happiness from children, has cough and asthma, is angry and without happiness.
पंचमेश अष्टम में हो तो जातक को थोड़ा संतान-सुख होता है, वह खाँसी-श्वास से युक्त, क्रोधी और सुखहीन होता है।
24.56सुतेशे भाग्यगे पुत्रो भूपो वा तत्समो भवेत् । स्वयं वा ग्रन्थकर्ता च विख्यातः कुलदीपकः
With the 5th lord in the 9th, the son becomes a king or equal to one; or one is oneself an author of books, famous, the light of the family.
पंचमेश नवम में हो तो पुत्र राजा या राजा के समान होता है; या जातक स्वयं ग्रंथकर्ता, विख्यात और कुलदीपक होता है।
24.57सुतेशे राज्यभावस्थे राजयोगो हि जायते । अनेकसुखभोगी च ख्यातकीर्तिर्नरो भवेत्
With the 5th lord in the 10th, a rājayoga indeed arises; the man enjoys many pleasures and is famous.
पंचमेश दशम में हो तो राजयोग होता है; मनुष्य अनेक सुखों का भोगी और प्रसिद्ध कीर्ति वाला होता है।
24.58सुतेशे लाभगे जातो विद्यावान् जनवल्लभः । ग्रन्थकर्ता महादक्षो बहुपुत्रधनान्वितः
With the 5th lord in the 11th, the native is learned, dear to people, an author, very skilful, and has many children and wealth.
पंचमेश एकादश में हो तो जातक विद्वान, जनप्रिय, ग्रंथकर्ता, अत्यंत दक्ष और अनेक संतानों तथा धन से युक्त होता है।
24.59सुतेशे व्ययभावस्थे जातः पुत्रसुखोज्झितः । दत्तपुत्रयुतो वाऽसौ क्रीतपुत्रान्वितोऽथवा
With the 5th lord in the 12th, the native is bereft of happiness from children; he has an adopted son, or a purchased one.
पंचमेश द्वादश में हो तो जातक संतान-सुख से रहित होता है; वह दत्तक पुत्र वाला, या क्रीत पुत्र वाला होता है।
24.60Now I tell the results of the 5th house, O twice-born. With the lagna lord in the 5th and the 5th lord placed in the 5th, —
